Reading and Writing in Innu
(Natuashish, April 21-May 1, 2008)
In conjunction with the Labrador School Board, the CURA project gave two weeks of training in Innu-aimun common orthography for the Innu Teacher Aides from Mushuau Innu Natuashish School (M.I.N.S.) in Natuashish, Labrador.The workshop was led by CURA Principal Investigator Marguerite MacKenzie and assisted by Project Manager Laurel Anne Hasler.Topics covered included:
- the Innu-aimun alphabet
- alphabetical order
- using a dictionary
- other Innu dialects
- some of the main rules of Innu-aimun common orthography
